Outer limits TACKY 150k wedding for UK 16 year old girl! Ugliest dress EVER!

October 30, 2008

I can’t believe we have another tacky chav-tastick child bride on our hands!  And get this, she lives in a trailer!! And she dropped out of school at nine.  Just when I think I’ve seen the tackiest thing in the whole world, BAM!! This wedding is UNREAL. Love the Brits!

This look can be yours, for a mere $30,000! Seriously.

Nice balloon arches.

Clown makeup!

Groom’s mother looks elated.

The proud parents of the bride.  Quite a demure mother of the bride outfit, wouldn’t you say? Can’t let the bride steal all the slutty!

LOVELY bridesmaid dresses!

Let’s not leave out the guests of this classy get together! Child prostitutes, like champagne, add a certain elegance to any event, wouldn’t you say?

Article from UK Daily Mail:

What Daddy’s little girl wants Daddy’s little girl gets.

So when Missy Quinn insisted on a big white wedding with her boyfriend, her father said Yes. It didn’t matter that she was only 16 and the groom 17.

Daddy also said Yes to a £16,000 wedding dress (which looked suspiciously like a crop top and skirt) and Yes to 150 guests at the reception. Then there were the cars, the hotels, the tiara and the £500 bouquet.

the end, making Missy’s wedding dreams come true cost her father – who lives in a caravan and surfaces driveways for a living – a whopping £100,000.

But as his princess, who hasn’t been in a classroom since she was nine and wants to be a glamour model, posed for photographs, her father Simon, 35, declared it was worth every penny. ‘I’m very proud of her today,’ he said.

Missy was just happy to be the undisputed centre of attention.

Her dress, studded with Swarovski crystals, and with a 10ft wide train, was so heavy that it took ten guests to help her struggle out of the Rolls-Royce Phantom that brought her to the church.

‘It was huge. I wanted to outdo everyone else’s wedding dress,’ she said.

‘It was extremely heavy and just standing in the church was really difficult. But despite all that, I felt just like Cinderella.’

The bill was around five times the cost of the average British wedding.

Missy said: ‘It cost a fortune, but I’ve always wanted a big wedding and my dad has been saving for ages to pay for it.’ She met Thomas at Alton Towers theme park when she was 13.

They continued to date despite her traveller family leaving their caravan park in Stoke-on-Trent every summer to tour the UK while Thomas lived with his parents in Wolverhampton.

Missy said: ‘I just knew he was The One from the beginning. He’s perfect.’

Her mother Theresa, 33, who married Missy’s father at 16, said: ‘I was surprised they wanted to get married so young in this day and age. But we could see they were madly in love.’

The couple married six days after Missy turned 16 at St Mary’s Catholic Church in Congleton-Cheshire. After the ceremony-guests in feathers and crystals enjoyed champagne and an all-day buffet at the reception. Girls as young as nine showed off bikini tops, high heels and make-up.

Guest Victoria Docherty, 23, who wore a £700 hotpants and bra outfit, said: ‘This isn’t unusual – it’s just what we do at weddings. It’s all very extravagant. Everything is paid for by the bride’s daddy.’

Missy and Thomas honeymooned in Turkey before moving into their own £18,000 caravan – a wedding gift from her parents.

Tacky wedding trend: Plastic surgery requirements for wedding party!

October 21, 2008

TW reader Julie recently came across this article, which talks about a new trend in Bridezilla craziness: asking people in your wedding party to cosmetically enhance their appearance:

These days brides are going all out to make their wedding the best it can be.

But, many brides aren’t stopping at up-dos and manicures. Experts say the new trend — bridal party makeovers.

Thirty-three year old Jeanne An is planning her wedding and it’s all about keeping things fun.

But when it comes to the wedding pictures, Jeanne wants to make sure she and her only bridesmaid, her 36-year-old sister Gui-hyun, look as perfect as possible.

So before the big day, she had one little request for her sister –Botox.

“It’s just another thing for us to do together, just like traveling or hanging out or going out for a bachelorette party,” Jeanne says.

Cosmetic dermatologist Howard Brooks says brides of all ages are parading into his practice.

“I had patients ask me, ‘Can I bring my bridal party in? I want them to have their lips done. I want their laugh lines filled in. I want Botox,'” he says.

Celebrity wedding planner Samantha Goldberg says it doesn’t stop at Botox. Some brides want their bridesmaids to have face peels, spray tans even nose jobs.

She says if everyone’s on the same page, it is fine. But she’s seen some dreams turn to disasters.

“There have been several examples in my career where people have been ‘blackballed’ or asked to step down from the throne by not participating in the Botox or breast enhancements,” Goldberg says.

Dr. Brooks says these are still medical procedures and need to be taken seriously.

“If that patient or that bridesmaid does not want that procedure done or they don’t need that procedure, I have to relate that to the patient and in turn tell the bride as well,” he says.

And guys, don’t get too comfy out there.

Doctors say another trend they’re seeing is brides who want their fiancés to head to the spa for a little Botox or chemical peel of their own.

After all, they are going to be in those photos too.

The heaviest wedding dress in the world is also one of the tackiest!

October 16, 2008

This wedding dress is 425 pounds. The girl is 16. The dress is a nightmare.

The following article is from the UK’s Daily Mail:

At seven-and-a-half stone, Carly O’Brien is a mere slip of a girl.

But if her bridegroom had tried to carry her across the threshold, he would have done himself a permanent mischief.

Thanks to 30 layers of material and 30,000 Swarovski crystals, Carly’s wedding dress weighed an astonishing 25 stone and is believed to be the heaviest in the world.

Family and friends took more than eight hours to dress her in the voluminous gown, which was more than 8ft wide and would not fit through the church doors.

Its train was more than 60ft long and was so heavy that ten guests had to push 5ft 3in Carly up the aisle.

The dress, designed by a family friend, is believed to have cost the bride’s proud father Frank more than £15,000. It was accompanied by a white gold tiara, studded with hundreds more crystals.

Carly’s sister Linda, one of six bridesmaids, said it was designed to look like Jordan’s outfit when she married Peter Andre last year.

The bride arrived at St Peter’s Roman Catholic Church, in her home town of Gloucester, in the same horse-drawn carriage used for Jordan’s wedding. Three male friends were required just to lift her to the ground.

More than 500 guests were there to see her marry landscape gardener Michael Coffey. But they had to wait for the privilege. While the ceremony was due to start at 3pm on Wednesday, 16-year-old Carly took so long to get ready that it was 4.15 before she arrived.

Thelma Madine, owner of Liverpool-based Nico’s Dressmakers, said Carly’s dress was created with 120 metres of silk, 1,600 metres of tulle and thousands of metres of net.

Dozens of steel hoops were sewn into the skirt’s 30 layers to give support to the entire structure.

After stepping out of her carriage, Carly was forced to remove three under-layers – including one of the widest hoops – from her dress to fit through the church doors.

Despite its enormous weight, Carly insisted on wearing the dress throughout the wedding reception at Hatherley Manor hotel near Cheltenham.

She spent most of reception sitting down, but did manage to get to her feet for the first dance of the night with her father, to the Temptations classic My Girl.

The bride and her 17-year-old husband then gratefully jettisoned their wedding outfits before leaving for a honeymoon in the Canary Islands.

A spokesman for Guinness World Records said they did not have a current entry for heaviest wedding dress. But the record for the longest train is 2,545ft, set by a Dutch couple in 2002.
